Cookie Policy

Hanasay uses cookies and similar browser storage in three categories. We only set non-essential cookies after you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the button at the bottom of this page or the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

Strictly necessary

These are required to run the service and are always on. Blocking them will sign you out or break parts of the site.

  • Clerk session cookies — keep you signed in between page loads.
  • Your cookie choice — a single localStorage entry (hanasay_consent_v1) so we don't keep showing you the banner.

Analytics — optional, off by default

We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the product is used in aggregate. PostHog is configured in memory-only mode, so it does not place persistent analytics cookies. Even so, it sends event data to PostHog, so we treat it as an opt-in choice. Session recording is disabled.

Advertising and measurement — optional, off by default

If you accept marketing, we load these to measure the effectiveness of our advertising:

  • Meta Pixel — sets the _fbp cookie and, if you arrive via a Meta ad, the _fbc cookie. Reports standard events (page view, sign-up, purchase) to Meta so we can measure ad performance.
  • Meta Conversions API — a server-to-server equivalent of the pixel. We send a hashed copy of your email (SHA-256), the cookie identifiers above, your IP address, your browser's user-agent, and the purchase amount when you buy a subscription. The same event is deduplicated against the browser pixel.
  • Attribution storage — a localStorage entry (hanasay_attribution) that remembers any utm_*, fbclid, gclid, or ttclid parameters from the URL you arrived on, so we know which campaign sent you.

What you can do

Use the button below to change your choice, or clear cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking the Clerk session cookie will sign you out and stop the authenticated parts of the site working.

Third-party trackers we don't use

Hanasay does not use Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads conversion tags, LinkedIn Insight, or any other tracker beyond those listed above.
